So much has changed for many businesses over the past eighteen months. Working from home and furlough has left many now facing the tough challenge of readjusting to office life again, something that was simply the norm once upon a time.
During the pandemic, did you simply let your insurance roll over at its last renewal? Easily done, after all it meant one less thing to worry about at the time, didn’t it?
Here at Trust, we’ve been working hard to touch base with all of our clients since everything ‘opened back up’, and face to face meetings are now once again a possibility. We like to visit our customers at their place of work in order to thoroughly assess and review any risks associated with their business. Whilst on site, we conduct a robust audit of both insured and uninsured risks, so we can create a bespoke insurance policy tailored to our client’s needs – ensuring they only pay for what they need, whilst providing them with complete peace of mind.
Have you overlooked anything that may invalidate your insurance policy? Have you made changes to your premises? Something so small can have big repercussions when it comes to making a claim and it’s not just your premises either, have you considered any changes to your supply chain?
During our recent on-site audits, we have uncovered some big changes and also some very small adjustments, both of which would stop our clients from making a successful insurance claim should they need to.
One client had simply replaced their fire door, not thought anything of it and carried on for months without informing us of the change. Luckily nothing happened during that time but, should a fire have happened, it would have been hard for them to claim on their insurance for any fire damage.
Another client had simply moved their bins 5 meters away from their business premise when they should have been kept 10 meters away. Yes, we know this is all trivial, if not boring insurance stuff, but if something had happened, that change in distance would have negated their insurance policy.
So, simply put, now is an extremely good time to ensure everything is accurate and adequately covered by your business insurance. You don’t need to wait for a renewal, changes to your policy can be made immediately to ensure you are covered, should anything happen.
Why not review your insurance at our cost? We offer a free Risk Review in your place of work, so we can get to know about you, your business and thoroughly audit all of the risks associated with your working practices.
